This week, On Your Marc! was taken over by some of the biggest achievers of the music industry whose names are synonymous with Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and Billboard Music Awards!
Guess what 90’s song I’m listening to while I’m writing this blog? No, it’s not “All by Myself’ by Celine Dion (that was sooo last week when I was at a karaoke bar in K-Town!). The song I’m listening to this very second is “Hold On” by Wilson Philips. Yeah, this song came out in 1990s (so what!). It's my go-to song when I’m feeling down and out. Do you remember the lyrics?
I met Carnie Wilson a few years ago and we were meant to be together like pepperoni on pizza. I love pizza but that’s a different story (I'm getting hungry now).Carnie's so amazing and so down to earth. When it was time to book celebrities on the “On Your Marc!” Show, I knew I had to interview Carnie. And she said “Yes!” YIPPEE!
It was 9AM California time on a Friday morning when Carnie entered the set of my talk show. I thought I might have 30-minutes with her at the most since I know most celebrities have time constraints, so I was prepared to get through her interview quickly. We talked, sang a few notes, and twerked near the pool! Miley's got nothing on us! Who do you think twerked better? :)
While I was interviewing Carnie, I loved her even more as a friend. I was drawn to her passion, her honesty, and her heart. She is the real deal. I love you Carnie!
I met Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. when we were taping at the House of Blues. They are sooo nice! They are the ultimate when it comes to musical couples… And they have been going strong for 45 years! WOWZERS! They’re the original members of The 5th Dimension which was very popular during that era. Here's a classic song by them.
I had the chance to sit down with them and I saw their love and devotion towards each other. It was amazing. I want to find true love like that someday (sigh). Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. are two classy performers who are talented and superb!
So what's on your playlist?
